Mine (Ironstone, & Coal?), early-19th cent' or earlier.
Site of ironstone mine adit, now occupied by woodland. Marked on mine plan of 1836 that describes formation as "3 feet of blaes containing 3 or 4 rows of ball stones reposed on 25 inches of coal".

Notes: Mellochfoot was a cottage located adjacent to this site, now demolished.
