Mine (Coal), late-19th cent.
Site of two closely-spaced mine mouths to SE-trending parallel adits off of which were workings in the 'Gas Coal' (see mine plan S2512, in refs). These connected with old waste workings of Kirkness Colliery to the NE which were abandoned 1879. The adit mouths are now buried below rough grassland on the S bank of the Lochty Burn, SW of the Westfield Biomass Plant.
Alternative Names: Capledrae Colliery
Notes: Capledrae Parrot Coal also referred to as the Gas Coal.
