Mine (Coal).
Site of two adit mouths now buried below field. Accessed shallow workings in the (Lower) Lochgelly Splint Coal close to its surface crop. These workings were contiguous with those from the Dean No.1 Pit to the NW, & Mary Colliery shaft (adjacent to Dean No.4 Mine) to the SE. The adits were located adjacent to a mid-19th century coal pit that pre-dated the main Kingseat (& later Dean) Colliery & had been abandoned by 1895.
