Site of level mouth driven into the E bank of the Rotten Calder that served the Basket Mine [see site #7619].
The convoluted level initially extended S before turning E and then N via two (access?) shafts [sites #9429 & 9430] to follow the margins of the Basket Mine ironstone workings, probably as far as the Lady Nancy Pit [site #9444].
See mine plan (S4843) in refs for level route. This also shows three additional sites within 70m to the NE which accessed ironstone workings to the E, marked as shafts by the MRA (some possibly steeply inclined adits).
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Possibly the partially-blocked adit mouth shown at 02:10 on the video in refs.
