Natural Arch/Cave, shovel pitted, recently inhabited.

Alternate Names: Uamh Sgaoirail, Sqairail (Uamh), Uamh Sqairail, Uahm Sgairail, Sgairail (Uahm)

Notes: Sqairail, Uamh is apparently a typo or mis-reading of old maps. Also mis-spelt Uahm Sgairail. Sgarbh meaning Cormorant Sgar(bh)-ail is the adjective so the most probable translation is the cave of the Cormorants or Cormorants' Cave.

Name applies to a cave situate on the seashore a short distance S.W. [South West] of Uamh Thòrabha 7/8 mile N.E. [North East] of Doodilbeg. On the property of Charles Morrison Esqr. of Islay House.
