• OS Name Book for the parish of Banchory Devenick, Kincardineshire has "Doo Cove: A large cavern in the cliff, Situated South of Findon Ness, frequented by wild pigeons" Thus 'Cove' means cave or cavern as is usual in the naming of coastal features.
• 1st Ed 25in OS shows this cave with a dotted indication of the underground tunnel which scales at 34 m.
• Photo 1 shows the entrance of the geo leading to Doo Cove on the right. Taken on 7 July 22 at 19:44 BST.
• Photo 2 entrance to the geo from a bit closer on 21/3/26. Tide level 4.5 m ACD.
• Photo 3 closer still and looking into the geo from in line. 21/3/26.
• Photo 3a a zoomed version of photo 3. Shows that the fault plane leans a bit right (NNW) and what is likely the cave entrance can just about be made out.
• BGS 1:10000 NO99NW solid & drift 1996 shows a fault running through the geo to this cave.
