At or near the east end of Aoineadh nam Muc (Slope of the Pigs).

A Cave on the Island of Scarba ¼ of a mile South east of Maol Buidhe and a little over ¼ of a mile South of Port nan Sliseag Sig;- [Signification] "Cave of the Bitches".

Translation is debatable. Plural of Galla (bitch or female canine) should be Gallachan [Morgan]

Alternative Names: Cave of the Bitches

Notes: No cave was found in this location by Chris Scaife in June 2024.

There appears to be some confusion over the coordinates NM 72112 03556 to 8 digits matches Pastmap (low-res) but Pastmap (hi-res) shows two dos at NM 72121 03556 and NM 72088 03512.

I suspect the 1897 OS map uses an irregular starburst as a marker for caves. If this is the case then Uamh nan Galla may be at neither of the points listed above but at NM 72005 03382 (see Aoinneadh nam Muc 2A).
