Karstic cave.
A low entrance at the base of a rock outcrop leads into a standing-sized first chamber containing rounded boulders. Tight low spot 9 m in dug out by Colin Coventry, leading to small standing-height chamber beyond. Way on blocked by large flake (now partially removed). 2 m of descending passage visible beyond. A spring is present further down the hillside a short distance NE of the entrance, suggesting that a lower, active passage may lie beyond the current cave end.
Alternate Names: None recorded.
Notes: Noted by Colin Coventry, c. 1986 when it was used by locals as a dumping ground and had a noxious smell from recently deposited dead sheep (possibly also sheep dip). Dig abandoned in 1986 (due to increase in number of dead sheep), but had cleaned-up by 2003 when it was re-evaluated by Iain Greig who noted only sheep bones. No dumping noted since.
Permission to dig required from Land-owner, farm manager, Grazing Committee and Crofters' Committee and not likely to be allowed during lambing season.
