Nemo Cave

Fairly spectacular entrance (photos 2 & 3) which is 7 m wide. At the W end there is a low level deviation right which is a blowback feature.

Near the main entrance, there is a hole (small gloup) in what appears to be a rather thin roof (photo 4 ).

There is a hole through the left (S) wall near the entrance with an interesting eroded space (photo 5 ).

Dimensions measured 19/7/23. Length does not include the parts which are only visible at low tide. Altitude is ACD.

Photo 1 the entrance to this cave is the larger and rightmost of the two entrances on the centre of the photo.
Photo 2 taken from just inside the entrance on 14 Aug 21 at 1.4 m tide level. Note the flowstone sheets high up and also the hanging down sheet on the high left. May be flowstone too.
Photo 3 similar to Photo 2, but at 4.8 m tide level on 19 July 23.

Photo 6 the apparent W end of the cave. There is a short extension of 1-2 m in the shadow on the right. See next photo. Tide level 1.4 m.
Photo 7 shows a low opening at the end of the RH extension. Taken at 14:39 BST on 14 Aug 21, 2 hrs after a 1.2 m neapish low tide, so tide level was about 1.4 m (Tides4fishing). The minimum astronomical tide for Arbroath is 0.1 m so it is very occasionally 1.3m lower than this. It appears to be a blowback feature.
