OS namebook: "A cave near the top of a broken Cliff on the east coast of Rapness 1/4 of amile east of Burrigar and nearly 3/8ths. of a mile north east of Tistoquoy. Here several Orkney Jacobites lay concealed for several months in 1745, and while in the Cave they depended for food upon a single persons visits to the retreat."
