A fine subtidal (at the entrance) seacave with a striking bronze crust on the W inside of the entrance. It faces about NNW. There is turn right onto a line slightly S of SW (217 degrees). At the end there is a small beach. On its right (W) there is a dividing rib of rock and a 3 m extra tunnel on its right (W). See photos 7 and 8.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Access: by sea west from Gardenstown or east from Tarlair, Macduff.
The bronze crust is probably the alga hildenbrandia rubra. This is usually a deep red when in shadow inside a cave, but can be paler outside, particularly in a north facing situation.
Measured 19/10/24 by N Feilden. Altitude is ACD.
