One of two sea caves east of Quilatotar.

Alternative Names: None recorded.

Notes: Cuilatotair is the older spelling, Quilatotar is more modern; meaning corner or nook of the ruin or homestead. Cuil means nook and Tobhta borrowed into Scots Gaelic means ruin but derives from the Norse Toft meaning homestead.

Murdo Macdonald (1822-1897) was the son of John Macdonald and Catherine Macdonald of Cuilatotair. [NTHSA]

Norman (1815-1891) was the son of William Macleod of Vatisker. He married Catherine Macdonald (daughter of John and Catherine Macdonald) from Cuilatotair. [NTHSA]

The farmstead at Cuilatotair is shown as a ruin on the 1852 OS map.
