Icehouse (18th Century).
Large subterranean structure with barrel vaulted roof and vertical gables. Hand-dressed s/stone masonry with large arch-headed lintel leads to antechamber. Interior roof of corbelled brick. Angled aperture 0.77m wide x 0.83m high leads to deep ice or well chamber. Iron hinge straps at edges. [Canmore]
Square icehouse, stone-built chamber with a brick vault and a low entry, dating from the 18th century. Shown on the historic OS maps and the current OS map as a well. [Angus HER]
