A just supratidal cave facing about NNW. The entrance is quite wide at 7.5 m. It narrows somewhat and the beach of large flattish stones/pebbles rises closer to the ceiling so that there is a flat crawl from 17 m to 20 m inside. It gets tall enough to sit up, while turning right and sloping gently down to a bit of a flat squeeze that was not attempted on 12/6/24.
There is clearly a passage along which air was coming. This may indicate a connection to Nettle Cave 3.
Alternate Names: None recorded.
Notes: Access: from beach to the west of the cave at low tide. This can be from the Sandy Creek beach on the E side of Findochty. Then round or through Starling Cave and to the W side of Horse Head.
Measured 12/6/24 by N Feilden. Altitude is a visual estimate and is ACD.
