Notes: Annotated as 'No.4 Pit' on geol. survey map, on corner of Bardowie St & Denmark St which is now occupied by an electric substation. Absent (from open field area) on OS 1st Editions (1865), and also from the 2nd Ed (1895) where the site is on the opposite side of Denmark St from the Keppoch Iron Works.
"The Keppoch Iron Works [or King's] moved to Denmark Street in about 1885... David King & Sons was less well-known than the other large iron-founding firm in Possilpark, Walter Macfarlane & Son, whose Saracen Foundry had a worldwide reputation. Kings probably made more utilitarian products. This works had been demolished by the late 1980s."[Canmore]
