Mine (Fireclay), c.1897-1909.
Initially a surface quarry, later a relatively small-scale room-and-pillar mine on the site of the now-demolished Gartverrie Fire Clay Works. Sites of two mine mouths on W side of complex at given coordinates & [NS 73153 68823], now infilled and buried below a pasture field beside Castlepails.
