Mine, Quarry (limestone), late 19th Century.
Small-scale but complex subsurface limestone workings, main part being located below the margins of Brucefield Park East (road). Entrances from former-opencast area shown on abandonment plan (see links) now infilled. Site of the buried shaft (at given coordinates) is in a patch of woodland, whilst the site of the infilled adit is possibly occupied by grassy roadside ground at [NT 0452 6466].
