Ironstone Mines (early 19th Century, or earlier).
A number of ironstone mine adits into Craigmark Blackband Ironstone are marked on Geol. Survey / MRA maps along the lower slopes of Craigmark Hill at Tongue Glen and the Craigmark Burn. A high concentration is marked around the given coordinates (W bank of the Craigmark Burn).
More easterly ironstone mines are marked on geol' survey map on S side of Chalmesrton Hill at NS 4782 0794, NS 4801 0812, & NS 4805 0813.
