Mine (Ironstone), 20th Century.

Small-scale drift mine with level tunnels from two entrances (Mine No.1 & No.2) linking to small-scale clayband workings situated to the SW under ~[NS 3312 5223]. Both roads measure c.200 m to SW limit of workings. Mine layout shown on abandonment plan (see refs). Operated by Colvilles Ltd (Motherwell), abandoned in 1942. Site now within woodland along S bank of the Powgree Burn, nr waterfall.
