A straight through subterraneous rift passage. Supratidal.

The rift may be a fault, with the down throw on the north side.

Notes: Access: by sea NW from Mill Shore or Pennan, or New Aberdour or E from Gardenstown.

Length is derived from the NGRs. Altitude is an estimate and is ACD.

OS 1st Ed 25in shows this as a tunnel, wider at the east end; labelled as 'Natural Arch'.
Photo 1 looking through this entrance, stood a little back. The rift/fault goes vertically up the left (N) side. The quartzite layer dipping south resembles the layer on the south side of the east entrance, but is at least 10 m lower. 29/8/25
