Tunnel, Hydro electric scheme.
The tunnel is a key component of the Tummel hydro-electric power scheme, designed to transport water from Loch Ericht to the Rannoch Power Station for electricity generation. The outfall point is at a valve house, where water from the tunnel is transferred into surface pipes which feed Rannoch power station downslope.
