Adit, Quarries (Limestone), mid/late 19th c.
Shown as Pitlessie Lime Works with notable surface workings on 1856 OS map. The mine at this locality is essentially the western part of Cults Mine, although probably once a standalone area which joined the Cults / Bunzion workings. Abandonment plan describes the Pitlessie area workings as 'old waste', suggesting near-total (induced) collapse.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Survey date from 1898 shown at rear (SW corner) of Pitlessie section. Given coordinates are for site of adit, situated amongst woodland & based on abandonment plan & OS 2nd Ed. 25" map.
