Large rectangular (modern) covered reservoir. Piped feeder (HDPE twin-pipe water main, 560 milimetres in diameter) runs 6 km from Mugdock Reservoir and Burncrooks Water Treatment Works Main Outfall to the reservoir at Baljaffray where it connects to the existing water mains.
Burncrooks WTW at end of life after 75 years (built 1950s). New main increases reliability and connectivity allowing water to be supplied from several treatment plants.
