A Cave in the face of a perpendicular rock in the Bay of the same name & from which it takes its name. At the south-east of Carrickamickie Bay (about ¾ mile west by north-west of the Mull of Galloway), a point of rock used as a seat by fishermen while angling. Near Carrickamickie Bay - (farm house), a small creek or gully the entrance of which is rugged, it is with great difficulty the fishermen can get their boats in to it.
