Mine (Coal), early 20th cent.

Site of former mine adit mouth, now buried below golf course fairway. The inclined adit with a gradient of 1 in 4 extended S to extensive workings within the Swallowdrum Coal. The roadway continuation of the entrance dook extends almost 350m to a point just short of the No.9 Pit [site #8285]. See mine plan S4666.
