Mine (Coal & Ironstone), 1870s.

Site of shaft situated along the Pitfirrane Day Level, now buried under field margin beside Baldridge Burn & situated at the S end of workings contiguous with those from the Balmule Pit (0.3 km to the NW at [NT 07854 90110]). Union Pit worked ironstone & multiple coal seams (Swallowdrum, Five Feet, Dunfermline Splint) as part of the Elgin & Wellwood Colliery [site #11639].
