Diagonal Rift Cave [Islay]

N coast of Islay, W of Rhuvaal Lighthouse, Argyllshire.

A surprisingly long cave situated above and just to the east of Cave of the Sward with a quartzite rib separating the two. This cave is dry with a shingle floored passageway, 2-3 m wide, flanked by a smooth rising flag on the right. There are winkle shells and mammal bones near the entrance. The passage has mostly good head height with a couple of lower projections. [Caves of Islay]
