Cave. 5 x 1 m trench excavated beside platform outside cave. Below topsoil deposit of hillwash was small mixed assembly of medieval and earlier pottery, flint pebbles, quartz chunks and a saddle quern. Lower deposits in sandy soil with hand-made pottery, flint and quartz flakes. Low stone built platform at top end of trench with small hearth in one corner. Pottery provisionally dated to Middle Iron Age although quartzite skaill knife might suggest earlier use.
