Generic. Refers to caves on the small island of Noss, west of Bressay, one of the Shetland Islands. The island is a nature reserve reached by passenger ferry (summer only). There are caves recorded by the Ordnance Survey on the north and east sides of the island and near the Point of Hovie on the south side.

Alternative Names: Noss (Caves of), Isle of Noss (Caves of), Noss Island (Caves of)

Notes: Original 4 digit coordinates placed this generic location in the sea southwest of Noss. The 8 digit coordinates are for the centre of the island not for any particular cave. There is no known cave at these coordinates.

Do not confuse Noss Head on the east side of the island of Noss with Noss Head on the mainland near Wick..
