Sea Cave
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: The original coordinates given [NT 41000 91000] were for the southwest corner of an OS NG square and indicated an arbitrary point southwest of Kirkcaldy Harbour. There is no cave at this location.
There is a high probability that this entry is a misplaced duplicate of one of the Ravenscraig Castle caves [approx 42000 92500, also an arbitray point]. Pathhead Sands are located northeast of Kirkcaldy Harbour and the beach is unbroken sand until it reaches the castle (on Ravens' Craig). Beyond the castle the beach continues with cliffs at the tide line but most of thr cliffs have been reinforced with a retaining wall with little natural stone exposed. The eastern extent of Pathhead Sands is at the Dovecote which also sits on a rock outcrop about 300 m east of the castle.
