Five Doors Cave (E entrance)

A supratidal cave system based on a 46m long tunnel running EW. Near the W end, it widens out to 19m and has 3 N facing entrances, 2 quite large and arch like, the middle one low and small. There is a large, roughly rectangular gloup in the ceiling S of the middle N facing entrance. There is also a 5.1m wide chamber in the E part of the tunnel, which is 1.7m wide at the E entrance (at NGR above). The W entrance is small and rift-like, at NJ 12907 69160.

The north facing entrances are at NJ 12915 69163, NJ 12924 69164 and NJ 12935 69165.

Notes: Access: From Cummingston Seaview Rd carpark, go down to the old railway line (tarmac'd), follow it left (=west) under a bridge and then for about 200m until the cutting drops away to a beach. Go down to W side of beach and the east entrance can be seen from the S side of the stack.
