Cave
Alternate Names: Bhreugadair (Uamh a') [lower entrance] , Uamh a' Bhreugadair [lower entrance], Breagaire (Uamh a') [lower entrance], Uamh a' Breagaire [lower entrance], Liar (Cave of the) [lower entrance], Cave of the Liar [lower entrance]
Notes: Although it is possible the name of the cave derives from the historic name of the stream, the Allt Bhreugaireachd (the false, lying or confusing stream), members of the caving community firmly believe the name comes from the former factor or manager of the outdoor activities center, who after it was well known there was a cave in the stream bed, denied categorically that there were any caves on the activity center's land.
Students of Eytmology will know most words, like the stream, derive their meaning from multiple sources.
Mar 2008 - updated position.
