Notes: Marked on geol. survey as Old Pit with annotation of '5 fms [9m] to Orchard Lst'.

Two small limestone quarries were located a short distance to the NW (NS 5595 5895 & NS 5618 5887), extracting the Orchard Lst (marked as Orchard Cementstone on geol. survey map).

Pit site now within woodland beside the Auldhouse Burn in Giffnock, adjacent to Florence Drive. Quarries now infilled and built over on SE side of junction of Park Road / Maryville Ave., and S side of Waterford Road near its eastern end.
