Castle Sween Cave

A small cave is located under the walls of Castle Sween, on the west. This cave measures 4.0m square and up to 2.0m high. It has been blocked at the back by a wall associated with Castle Sween.

Notes: A polished stone axe and a whetstone found c. 1926 in the cave are at Kilberry castle and are perhaps an indication of early occupation. [Campbell and Sandeman]
