Culverted section of the Bilston Burn where the deep limestone gorge of Bilston Glen was infilled with spoil from the Bilston Glen Colliery .
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: The Bilston Glen Colliery was the successor to the Loanhead Colliery (Burghlee and Dryden Pits). The urgent need for coal in the 1980s meant that a site had to be found for the waste material and unfortunately despite protests and objections in parliament, prolonged negotiations left the Government and the Coal Board with no option but to use Bilston Glen.
