Probably a small sea cave in the cliff east of Dove Cave in Muncraig Heugh.

A natural cave in the face of a precipice on the seashore of the farm of Muncraig, its entrance is quite low and narrow only admitting a man in a crawling position to enter it and within the entrance is a cavity something in the shape of a man and at its west side is a large rock nearly the shape of a table on which is a small hollow resembling a saucer or bason which probably is formed by the continual dropping of water issuing from the roof of the cave. It is not known locally how it got its name . An additional note in the OS name book suggests a local tradition of a robber named Whid resorting to the cave [Scotland's Places]

Alternative Names: None recorded.

Notes: Photographs of Whid's Hole do not show any obvious cave, but there is a rockfall so there may be a boulder cave os the cave may have been lost.
