Ironstone Pit (19th Century) & bing.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Discrepancy between OS map (given coordinates, fitting with scarred land on satellite imagery) and location shown on Geological Survey [ 29231 52149] now covered by field pasture. Possibly two separate, neighbouring pits (only one site noted on either map)?
Shown as 'Old Ironstone Pit' on 1858 OS 6" map. Also Coal Pit c.100 m to E [NS 2934 5200], and older coal pit c. 130 m to SE [NS 2930 5193].
