Site of coal and ironstone mine (early 20th Century).

Notes: Labelled as No 15 & 'pit, ironstone' (beside 'Cadder Pits' label) on geological survey. Served by (now demolished) mineral railway.
Site now occupied by saw mill grounds.
"Scottish Pit Fire - 22 Lives Lost: The pit where the fire occurred belongs to the Carron company and is situated at Mavis Valley in the Cadder District of Lanarkshire near Bishopbriggs, a few miles from Glasgow. It is known as No. 15 and is 175 fathoms deep." [Scottish Mining]
