Drift Mines (Ironstone), early or mid 19th Century.

'Ironstone Mines' label shown on 1860 OS map with markings either side of burn, but only two neighbouring adits marked on MRA map on E side of burn. A shaft is also marked to W, but not marked on OS / geol' survey maps.

Alternative Names: None recorded.

Notes: Ironstone mined here may have been clayband, rather than Dalmel' Blackband as mined elsewhere in area.
