Operated by Wm. Dixon Ltd. (inferred from name of "Dixon's Waygateshaw Pit" on geol. survey map). Shaft absent from OS maps, although large bing surface structure shown at this site on 2nd Ed. OS map, but no evidence on 1864 1st Ed.
