Mine (Coal, Ironstone & Fireclay), latest 19th to early 20th Century.
Both Braehead Colliery pits No.1 & 2 were producing both coal & ironstone in 1915, & also extracting fireclay by 1920. The shafts of pit No.2, which closed pre-1944, are now buried below pasture.
