Tunnel, Hydro Electric scheme.
The 4km-long Cassley tunnel diverts water from the River Cassely via the Duchally weir to the Cassely Power Station. Completed by 1960, the Loch Shin project was a colossal and ambitious undertaking and today remains the most northerly hydroelectric scheme in Scotland. [Highland Archive]
