Tunnel, Hydro electric scheme.
A dam along an un-named river diverts the stream into the S portal of a long NNW-trending tunnel that passes through the mountain of Stob nan Coinnich Bhacain. The tunnel's hidden N portal joins onto a NE-SW trending section of buried aqueduct at ~[NN 300 156], the perpendicular path of which is marked by a series of dams along various tributary streams.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: This tunnel collects water that would otherwise flow into Loch Lomond and diverts it N to the aqueduct in Strath Dubh-Uisge. This ultimately flows into the Loch Sloy reservoir for the purpose of supplying the Sloy hydro electric power station (which happens to be S of the tunnel's inlet).
Given length approx.
