Tunnel, Hydro electric scheme.

Adit outfall flowing into the Allt Coiregrogain. The gently-inclined SW-NE oriented tunnel has been driven through bedrock under the Bealach a' Mhain from a dammed intake along the upper reaches of the Croe Water within Coire Croe to the SW [NN 2531 0675].

Alternative Names: Coire Croe - Allt Coiregrogain tunnel

Notes: This forms part of the Sloy hydro power scheme, with the outfall waters flowing at surface only briefly before sinking into the Allt Coiregrogain (to Loch Sloy) Tunnel. These collectively partly feed the main reservoir of Loch Sloy that drives Sloy power station at Inveruglas.

Given length & VR approx. (straight line between intake and outflow).
