Tunnel, Hydro-electric scheme.
From the NE shore of Loch Orrin, a tunnel trends NE as far as [NH 4359 5420] where a surface pipeline carries water downhill to the powerhouse below. En route is a surge shaft located at [NH 4358 5396].
"A tunnel was constructed through the hillside, just over 17,000 feet (3.2 mi; 5.2 km) long, with an 8+1⁄2 ft (2.6 m) wide, concrete lined, D section." [Wiki]
