Site of infilled adit now part of Bridgend golf course.
"No. 3 Mine was sunk to exploit Broxburn Shale lying south west of Champfleurie (Bridgend) Oil Works, and shared mine head facilities with the longer established No. 2 Mine. The mine closed on collapse of the Linlithgow Oil Company Ltd, but was briefly reopened by James Ross & Company who extended their mineral railway from Philpstoun No. 4 Mine to enable Ochiltree shale to be transported to Philpstoun Oil Works."
