8 m diameter pre-cast concrete shaft, depth unknown at Bellahouston Park. Visible on Google Earth Aerial photograph. Part of Scottish Water - Glasgow Resilience Project. Two-way water supply pipe between Milngavie Water Treatment Works and the Bradan Water Treatment Works, Ayrshire.

Alternative Names: None recorded.

Notes: 1.5 m diameter tunnel dug by a boring machine runs 252 m between Broomloan Road and Bellahouston Park and will form part of a seven miles of new water mains connecting the Glasgow and Ayrshire water supplies to provide improved resilience in the event of supply failure.

The new water main is being installed in the Ibrox, Mosspark, Pollok, Priesthill, Nitshill and Parkhouse areas of Glasgow and will run from Ibrox to a reservoir storage tank in the Parkhouse/Darnley area.

A new pumping station is being built at Ibrox which will push water to the existing pumping station in Parkhouse/Darnley for onward distribution to Ayrshire. This work in the south of Glasgow is the third and final stage of the overall investment, which has already delivered improvements in Ayrshire.
