Eastern entry to a short tunnel on the disused and dismantled railway (a siding from the Lanarkshire & Dumbartonshire Railway) previously passing under the Partick Brass Works at Marshall Place and Merkland Street (south of Meadowside Public Park) then under the length of Graham Street to emerge east of Orchard Street. Almost all of these streets have vanished and the tunnel has almost certainly been completely removed to make way for new roads (Clyde Expressway/Pointhouse Road) and Student Housing at Anderson Street.
Alternative Names: Castlebank Street Tunnel
Notes: Some sections of the remains of the tunnel may survive buried under late 20th century landscapng.
Although not actually a tunnel at the point where it once reached Castlebank Street the rail siding was in a deep stone lined cutting with steel beams bracing the sides and several roads crossing on bridges above.
