Mine (Coal), 19th cent.
Site of treated adit within woodland that formerly led E into a vast area of room-and-pillar workings which were also accessed by neighbouring pits to the east (e.g. Balbeggie Pit, Orsmill Pit). The Balbeggie Pit at [NT 2912 9671] was active during the 1830s & 1850s. See mine plan in refs.

Notes: Little Dysart was the name of a row of cottages which stood just E of the mine mouth at [NT 2910 9662].
