A coal mine, which is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perth and Clackmannan 1866, sheet cxxxiii) to the SE of the Miners' Rows at Collyland (NS89NE 64), is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1992). [Trove.scot]
Structures shown on 1866 map are shown as unroofed in 1899 and no longer marked as Coal mine.
Long distance photo [Alpin Stewart on Geograph] shows surviving but ruinous structure of large masonry blocks within a post and wire enclosure.
Alternative Names: Collyland Shaft
Notes: The shaft as marked on the OS maps (NS 88650 95320) sits to the NE of the standing stuctures as indicated on the 25" OS map. The Geological Survey map places it to the SW (NS 88635 95296).
